Green garden makeovers on TV

New green garden makeover TV show invites people to take par

People with less than green gardens in the South East of England are being invited to take part in an eco-makeover garden show. Gardens will be chosen on their neglect of basic eco-principles and each garden on the show will be given one major new feature to improve sustainability.

As posted at the Eco Street forum by ECO TV:

Is your garden more rubbish dump than compost heap?
Are you a green god/goddess in the kitchen and eco-disaster in the garden?
Do you ever wonder why you never see any wildlife in your own back garden?

We are looking for people from the South East who would like to transform their gardens from eco-catastrophes into gorgeous eco-friendly spaces.

This is not a traditional make-over show and gardens will be chosen on their neglect of basic eco-principles for example, lack of recycling, use of chemicals, harm to or lack of consideration for wildlife, overuse of energy, unnecessary waste disposal.

Each garden will have one major new feature such as a pond to encourage wildlife, a rockery using materials from an earlier extension, a wind turbine or new beds using discarded household objects as well as a number of smaller features. We will also make dramatic changes to the look of the garden through new planting schemes.

We are filming from January 2007 through to May 2007 in the South East. If you are interested in applying to be on the show, please send your contact details (name, telephone number and address). Also include photos and dimensions of your garden and details as to why it is currently an eco-disaster. Finally, suggest ways in which you think we could help you to create an eco-beautiful garden.
